During the 2014 North American International Auto Show, we sent OSKNY’s resident blogger Steve Smith back to his hometown of Detroit. It’s said that the former automotive capital is facing big problems. The financial collapse of the city, the massive decline of residents and the numerous houses that are abandoned or destroyed are just a few of the sad stories you might have heard in the news recently. However, every crisis presents an opportunity. You see a glimmer of hope for the “D” when you take a closer look, do some on-site researching and speak with newly-arrived residents.
While Steve was looking for signs and indicators of a Detroit comeback he was accompanied by time-lapse professional Eric Hines. Eric followed Steve on his editorial expedition through the city and created this time-lapse short film featuring some of the more notable spots in Detroit.
